The Max Headroom Connection

An interesting (if trivial) connection between the TV series "Max Headroom" and the "Supernatural" episode 'Two Minutes to Midnight.'

Contains spoilers for Supernatural, and an explanation (of sorts) of Max Headroom.

Back in the mid-1980's, there was the TV series "Max Headroom." The character of Max, a computer program with a mind of his own, only existed on TV screens. He had a human counterpart, Edison Carter, both played by Canadian actor Matt Frewer. Today's scifi audiences may know him as Taggert, the big game hunter (ish) on "Eureka." One of the series regulars on "Max Headroom" was Blank Reg, an aging head-banger and operator of a pirate television station, played by William Morgan Sheppard.

In Thursday's episode of "Supernatural", 'Two Minutes to Midnight', Matt Frewer played Pestilence (and very well, too, I might add.) The actor who played the demon Crowley, Mark Sheppard, is the son of William Morgan Sheppard.

I thought it was cool. But then, I loved "Max Headroom".
