how has the selling on amazon thing been working for you? Are you selling just books, or other stuff too? If other stuffs, what kind of stuffs? What kind of volume do you do, in terms of having stuff posted and selling stuff? Where are you seeing the most action?

I posted a few books on amazon but so far no luck. It's a little discouraging. :/ Granted, it really was only like THREE, so I can't exactly say I've given it the 'old college try' yet, lol.

I haven't done it in a while, but I made a good deal reselling books from the second hand shop. :)

I made a big chunk when I decided that the Rosetta Stone software I bought wasn't what I'd hoped it'd be. I didn't get to sell it at the price I bought it for, but made some back instead of being stuck with crappy software. :/

The 'big companies' out there will beat you every time, selling poor quality books for a PENNY, NOT KIDDING.

I've been feeling the self-imposed guilt of my purchases lately, and also have started getting a bit of the flak from the hubs. So I've been brainstorming. Short of illicit activities on certain sleazy streetcorners, I've been at a loss ( ... )

How do I *validate* the money spent? I quit smoking. That saves a lot of money, well more than I'm spending on the perfume, AND I'm you know... less likely to die and stuff.

How do I FUND? I'm very luckily married to a boy that likes to spoil me.

If I go overboard, I tend to look around the house for stuff to sell, lol.

oh, I didn't even think about the quitting smoking thing for you. I would totally use that to validate it too!

My boy is all into being practical. Like, 'how are we going to afford for you to stay home next year'? Geez. I mean, I know I want that more than perfumes, ultimately, but come on. I want the perfumes NAO.

NAO does me in. Every time. I think ordering stuff on the internet is teaching me delayed gratification. The mail man I stalk would probably say differently, as he sees my expectant face peeping out at him every afternoon lol.

Every Payday purplevenus June 2 2008, 17:48:06 UTC
I put what I can afford to spend into Paypal. Sometimes I use it, sometimes not. Depends on whether something I like or want to try comes up.
Since I put $ in every payday, but don't always spend it, when it reaches a certain level, I'll go straight to the CO and place a direct order.
I'm also realistic, I have never needed an entire set of decants from any circle.
I don't like patchouli, so all those are out. I hate butterscotch and caramel in real life, so I probably don't want to smell like those.
I also swap. A lot.

my etsy store will be funding my fixes - once i get it up and running that is.
i've just started all of this and my first major purchases were funded with anniversary/mother's day money. since then, it's been decant circles, swaps and sale items.
i have yet to purchase a whole bottle of anything for myself - i'm still in the "sample & see" phase.
