[well hello neighbor. bat guy is feeling like being even more of a social retardation than usual, so you just get a short glance before he returns to staring at the fascinating stoop.]
[After hearing his call, Vietnam pretty much decides that she doesn't need permission to see him, being his country and all, and he is her only babby here and hngggh Charles ;3;
So she's rushing up to his house, and finding him on the front porch, she throws her arms around him in a hug.]
[normally he would pitch a fit over it because obviously hugging = babying!! and that is just not okay with this old man. but his last day in Westport had left him shaken, and so he lets himself be hugged though he makes no move to return it or to speak.]
[that's okay because she is petting his hair and making calming sounds, and it's not because she wants to demean him or make him feel small, it's because she really was sick to her stomach with worry.]
[and he allows this too, albeit for a shorter span of time. just a few minutes and he makes a move to distance himself again, feeling uncomfortable with showing weakness so soon after the biggest moment of weakness he had ever displayed.]
...So this is the kind of place we're dealing with.
.......well, he was never one to turn down sweets. that may be a mumbled but completely genuine 'thank you' you're hearing with absolutely no insults attached. amazing.]
It's a good thing for you I was there, what with you just standing around gape-jawed. You'd have been killed in an instant.
[AFJKSM personal bubble invasion PERSONAL BUBBLE INVASION.
he doesn't even have to turn around to know who it is, and he doesn't really put up much of a fight for once. the candy-stealing asshat even remembered his name!]
[he'd been on the phone for awhile, honestly; maybe since waking up, trying to figure out what to say, to apologize, anything, but... what was there to say? even if it hadn't been his fault, even if it hadn't been Charles's fault... he'd still killed him.
but he catches the voice of his friend and can't bring himself to say anything, because there was no way he could make killing him right, even if Charles had that ridiculous, recklessly suicidal side to him. so he just hangs up.
....maybe an hour or so later, he'll wind up coming down the street to the not!old mans house. had to do something, right?]
[despite the fact that Charles seemed utterly enthralled with the step under his feet, he notices right away when Minato's figure enters his peripheral vision. almost instantly, the pensive frown he had been wearing shifts to a sneer, and once he assumes the Persona-user is in hearing range, he spits out a very bitter-sounding:] Come to rub it in, have you?
[while Charles is busy sneering and being a bitter little old man, Minato just looks tired. once he's close enough to the house - maybe a yard or two from where Charles is, he doesn't know if there are barriers now, distances he should keep - he stops, just standing there and watching the kid. and, despite everything, it was a bit of a relief seeing Charles... well, alive, and not covered in blood or as still as a corpse.
even if he probably hated Minato now. it wasn't like he could really blame him after all.]
[it's probably a good thing for Minato that Charles is an emotional roller coaster, as it means he will probably eventually get over being a hateful, bitter little old man. now is not that time, though!
the 'no' just earns Minato a short laugh and a wide smile. it's different from his usual mocking smiles and the unhinged ones he had displayed during their fight, but it's no warmer.] Come now! You must be here for a reason. A rematch, perhaps?

I have something for you. It's to say thanks for saving Norway and I the other day.
[And he hands the bag to the other. Inside, he'll find a big chocolate bunny, the one he was going to give to his brother. Ah don't you feel special?]

Yes there is! It was too quiet! Shiro didn't know what to say to blank mind people when asking about study.
