Dangerous boobies

No, I'm not talking about the Six Apart / breastfeeding brouhaha, but about bus advertisements - specifically, Shortland Street bus advertisements.

See, I like breasts (surprise, surprise). They're cool to have, nice to touch, and lovely to look at. They are, however, exceedingly distracting when one is trying to drive.

New Zealand buses often have large advertisements covering the rear of the bus, the better to sell to the hapless consumer driving along behind them. In Friday's case, the hapless consumer was me. And the advertisement was a very large picture for Shortland Street. See that small picture below this paragraph? That's what I was looking at. For a better idea of the impact, here's link to it full screen size.

That's a lot of cleavage, right there.

So there I was, following the bus, looking at the breasts, the breasts and the breasts - because I couldn't see the road past the bus, and really there wasn't much else for me to look at. And I'm looking at the women to whom the breasts belong, and my thought processes went something like this:

I really haven't watched Shortland Street for ages. Who are these people?
Gods, but they all have impressive cleavage. Was that deliberate?
Mmmmm, boobs.
What are they dressed up for? Are they going to a party?
What are the chances that three woman going to a party would ALL be wearing incredibly low-cut dresses?
And quite short skirts?
Mmmm, legs.
That chick in the pink looks scarily like Calista Flockhart.
The middle chick just looks scary.
That's not Donna on the right, is it?
That's actually quite a nice green dress. I like the embroidering on the skirt.
Mmmmm, boobs.
I could lose myself in those.
Oh, crap! *brakes*

I've also seen the same pic on a billboard, but the impact (heh) isn't quite the same. Still, that's the best ad I've seen for ages!
