7 interesting things I noticed on my morning walk

1: A scuffed and somewhat folorn Ten of Spades, lying to the side of a dirt track. It looked like it had been there about a week - enough time to get dirty, but not enough time to begin to decay. If I had a pack that was missing a Ten of Spades, I would have picked it up. As it was, I just thought about it ( Read more... )

such romantic outlook you have on life to notice those things. I do that too, well I used to more in the past - things like atmosphere of the day, leaves in puddles, expression on a face of a man catching my train, bird flying past me and landing on a window-sill...and the like.

legs hurt from all the walking - but good exercise, ay.

Mostly it's me trying to get my writing mojo back, so trying to take the time to notice these things. And hell, if I don't have some blessings to count I'm just going to mope - and who wants a mopey Deb?

Indeed it's good exercise. Let's see if I can keep it up without a dog for incentive ...

You could read into the five and ten of spades if you knew what they were supposed to mean (am sure there is something on the net) :)

The flag idea is neat! I used to do road patrol in Form 2, flags would of made it so much more fun!!!

There is a long-haired grey cat prowling around, friendly, miaows a lot as a hello, tested the boundaries of our door sill and knew it was norty when it got inside!!!

Your pain goes down, mine goes up :( I was in a lot of pain today after work (starting at work) and hobbled around wanting to cry :( Acute pain sucks, nothing much works does it :(((

Clever sausage! [I haven't said that in ages..]

What we know as playing cards are an evolution of the Tarot Deck, in this case Spades were once Swords...

10 of Spades: freeing yourself from torment, ability to survive hard times.
5 of Spades: a willingness to overcome jealousy or childishness.

[okay, swords is the scary suit in the deck!]

:)

Melikes the 10. But I wonder if the meanings relate to me (the finder) or random person who dropped them?

Hey I knew it would be something! :)

Was that the card fleeing from torment as it lay on the ground away from other cards? And then the 5 was jealous so it joined the 10? :D

I guess it says something secret about the card owner :)

Looks like someone lost two of their cards, which is going to make it impossible for them to play solitaire ...

That's why the deck has two Jokers in it, for replacement and proxy purposes.

When I was waiting at the traffic lights to cross, the primary school children who arrived (it was just before nine am at this point) all picked up bright orange flags from a bucket. When we crossed, they waved them aloft as they trekked across the road, and then put them in the bucket on the other side.

So does that make them conquerers of the road? No flag, no country, you know.

Good point about the jokers. I never thought about using them for solitaire before (obviously, I play it too often on the computer).

It makes sense that orange flags would be conquering - look at all the orange in road crews, and the crawling speeds drivers achieve. Maybe the kids are rulers of the traffic, rather than the roads themselves?
