Yes, while at work we had further proof that there are some odd-balls out and out about on any average day. But, yesterday brought a reall random question
( Read more... )
Yes we do have venomous snakes. Never seen one except a dead one on the road. We have rattlesnakes over here, and where Walter is from in the South, there are TONS of venomous snakes. Everywhere.. Cottonmouths. Water moccasins. Different rattlesnakes. Copperheads. You name it. He was bitten by a cottonmouth and I can still see the mark where it bit him. He said it was extraordinarily painful and he swelled up. Thank God for antivenom. Over here, not surprisingly nearly 100 percent of people who get bitten by venomous snakes are men.
I know when we were in Tennessee we just got back to our RV having had a walk and one of the rangers asked how many rattlers we had spotted ... luckily for us the answer was zero
Ha. Walter's car broke down in Memphis when he was young and he had to walk a mile to work in the heat and humidity. This was long before Uber and Lyft and you had to use pay phones to call a taxi. He said he was soaking wet when he got to work. But no snakes :P
That reminds me of a strange call I took once, it would have been a few years ago now as it was when ex-boss Umbridge was still there, someone had rung up to complain about a nursery school...oddly enough, it was in Exeter. I'm in Herefordshire. She would not have it that if there was an issue with a nursery in Exeter, Herefordshire couldn't do anything about it.
