In my dim and distant past I was a staff nurse in orthopaedic trauma and the name came back to me as I read your description :)
It was often hard to spot them on X-rays when first done, especially as I worked on a ward where everyone had other, more obvious trauma, and the scaphoid fractures were quite often only confirmed about a week after the accident. Which is why, as a staff nurse, I used to be a dab hand at plastering them!
I especially like your 'Grow your own way' pot in the garden, I would love one of those.
as soon as I guessed what had happened I knew I had to be careful ... we had it drummed into us when we were training to be osteopaths.
I had presumed there would be no fracture image ... just hope it will heal without surgery. I have another week before I can begin to worry according to my sheet of paper I had. The pain is easier, and I do have a little bit of mobility (not that I am testing it, as I wasn't it to knit together OK)
I think that pot came from Sainsbury last summer (I had birthday money)

When my right-hand tendinitis first started 20 years ago, I taught myself to use a mouse left-handed. It's very useful to be ambimoustrous!

When I was an osteopath I worked left handed, so can do quite a lot ... but writing is still fairly hard (oh well, I shall get lots of practice)
