9 Into 6 Doesn't Go!
The clinic I work in on a regular basis has 6 slots ... somehow we ended up with 9 patients ... 3 of them booked into the first slot, and one of which was the father of my boss when I am on the Welcome desk (and she came with him). So I spent the day running up and down, and apologising to people for the delays ... although, ironically, we actually finished 5 mins early.
So got home on time, and because I was so busy the shift went really rapidly.
So, in the end. a win-win
Another afternoon off, so I am going to do some ironing, some baking and even make some icons ... all in all a good day (so far)
And before I do that -
11 - World Population Day: World Population Day comes along each year to remind us that our present rate of population growth is unsustainable, and the present social and logistical issues we are experiencing to meet the demand of that population will only get worse if we don't do something. What can be done to slow population growth? Can we effectively fight climate change without addressing the global population issue?
I can remember, back in the 70's, hearing that if the population kept growing like it was then we would all be standing on each other's shoulders!
