The youngest of my 4 grandparents was born (it's also the day that Queen Victoria died). My Grandmother was named Ada Francis, but in honour of the Queen she had Victoria added as well. However all her life she was called Dine ... and, no, I haven't a clue why, and neither did she! She had 3 other sisters live to adulthood ... one was named Edith

It is great to have grandma's locket ... as I type this I am wearing 2 rings that belonged to my other grandmother, as well. (I also have a load of mum's stuff, as like me, she loved her jewellery)

We had family members known by odd names, too - for example my great grandfather James Henry Howland was know to all the family as Grandfather William. My grandfather always called me Dick and my mother Rob!
