The youngest of my 4 grandparents was born (it's also the day that Queen Victoria died). My Grandmother was named Ada Francis, but in honour of the Queen she had Victoria added as well. However all her life she was called Dine ... and, no, I haven't a clue why, and neither did she! She had 3 other sisters live to adulthood ... one was named Edith & called Pess, one was named Ethel & called Mick and the other was named Alice but called Rose. There were 2 adult boys, Goerge & John ... called ... George & John!
This is Grandma & Granddad when they got engaged in 1922
The necklace she is wearing is a locket that I now have and has a photo of Granddad at this age, and of Dad at about 3 months old! Granddad was in the Coldstream Guards ... those who wear the red coats in front of Buckingham Palace, for the non-English readers!
This morning I met up with my friend Toni as it's her birthday next week, and we stood and chatted for a couple of hours, and I think my toes are just about thawed out again!
Now I have ironing to do, before having a lazy rest-of-the-weekend ... but as ever -
22. How often do you check your phone?
Rarely .... Toni phoned half a dozen times before she caught up with me yesterday!
23. What is your favourite thing to eat or drink in winter?
Same as summer! I don't really change my diet all that much.
Have a super weekend - see you Monday x
