Toured Stone Brewery Co.

I have a frog in my throat and now my neck and shoulders hurts. Man. I'm wondering if this respiratory thing caught me while I was on the plane. I've read that can happen. Well, we had fun while we were gone.

For Phil's birthday we visited Stone Brewery Co. in Escondido. It was in an industrial area and it didn't have a sign. I guess you just need to know where it's at to visit. Those in the know, go.

Stone Brewery Co. and it's garden are wonderful. Phil's older brother and his wife drove us to Stone Brewery from Oceanside. They had checked it out before we arrived, so they knew where to go.

We looked at the meditative gardens before the distillery tour. Why they would have meditative gardens, I don't know. I mean, it's the home of Arrogant Bastard ale. Anyway, the gardens are beautiful and so is the architecture. Here's the website http://www.stonebrew.com/home.asp so you can take a look for yourself.

The crafted food was tasty and interesting. I had BBQ duck tacos, Phil and his brother had Buffalo steak, and Carol had chicken weinersnitchel. I tasted the steak and I liked that best. For dessert we shared a Blueberry Blue Cheese Jalapeño Cheesecake. I didn't like it, but the others wolfed it down. It certainly was different.

The tour was interesting. After the tours the brewery treated us to a beer tasting. We sang Happy Birthday to Phil.

For health reasons, I don't usually drink alcohol, and I made an exception in order to celebrate Phil's birthday and I requested only a taste of three of the four beers (they filled a cute little two ounce, probably, glass). I really just like the Arrogant Bastard Ale. I had a pint with lunch, too. If you didn't know, all Stone Brewery beers have a big taste. The logo for the Arrogant Bastard Ale is a arrogant-looking gargoyle. The logo decorates nearly everything in the brewery restaurant. It was fun and Phil enjoyed himself.
