Friday, the phone rang several times before 9am, and I was NOT going to answer it. I figured it was somebody from work and I was OFF. Phone rang again around 9:30 or so. Picked it up - it was Joyce. A very excited Joyce *weg*. "You're in the newspaper!!!!". I had told Joyce about the pepsi thing, but I guess it didn't really make a huge impression? Maybe I didn't stress the tv part or the trip down to LA...??? Turned out that she had been calling me since she read the paper.

Decided to go out and play - went out for brunch at Emil Villa's in San Leandro. She says the ribs there are better than the Oakland one (which closed recently *sigh*). Will have to go back and have dinner some time. Went shopping. We found a hair color that she didn't cringe over (you should have seen her when I colored my hair jet black for the blue highlights). Color came out very nice. =) Then, she came at me with the scissors. Did I mention that Joyce is licensed cosmetologist? She's very quick with the sharp pointy things. Next thing I knew, my hair was like 3-4 inches shorter. TRIM! NOT CUT! Oh well. Dead hair, split ends - all gone. Just have to break out my barrettes and hair combs. Hair is shoulder length. My sisters are very happy.

Karen & I went to the A's game. It was not pretty. *sigh* 2 grand slams by the OTHER team.

Saturday, Karen & I went to the game so that we could get the Dennis Eckersley figurine and watch the pregame festivities to celebrate Eckersley's and Lon Simmons' getting into the Hall of Fame. Got to see both Dave & Ricky Henderson, Rick Hunnicutt & Terry Steinbach!

Joey and I went over to Rosenblum's for the quarterly open house. He'd gotten there early and had gone through majority of the zins. - He'd been through the ice cream line too - gotta love the Tucker's zin ice cream with chocolate. Yum. We did go through several times. Tried the cab, the syrahs and all the dessert wines. Picked up a couple of bottles of the chocolate and vanilla ports to bring to World Con. We split a case of the kangaroo cabernet.

Ended going to India Palace for a quick dinner - well quick for him. He had to leave by 6:30 in order to go to a concert. Turned out his friend had to bow out because of back spasms, so the concert thing didn't happen, but Joey didn't find that out until he was at the meeting point in SF.

Sunday, I had the kiddes again. We went over to Skip & Elaine's (cousins) to visit Auntie Nobuko (aka Auntie Nice). She had tendon surgery on her hand done last month. Kids had to kiss her cast to make it better ya see. Healing slowly - she's 84 years old - one of mom's older sisters.

Had seen a park on the way the in, so I stopped there so the kids could play. Lots of energy - plus Skip had given the kids jelly beans. Poor Kyle found out the hard way that he needed to hold on tightly to the tire swing. One push and he had fallen through the center. OOps. Went next door and kids played on the school's play structure too. Two parks. Go me!

Kids asleep before we made it to the freeway. =)

Monday, was having a bad day. Dragged da fox out for dinner. Needed WINE. Well, we ended up at an Irish pub and so we settled for Irish coffee. Been really hooked on Irish coffee since trip to Ireland.

Have to do laundry and stuff - need to pack for trip to St. Louis on Friday. Poor pezazul. Gotta celebrate his birthday. Going to see Shawna too. Gotta see if lightening will blow up church on Saturday.
