remember the days when...

this one really deserves its own post. in our world today, everything is better, faster, more convenient, easy, and specially effected. i say garbage. things were right where i wanted them when i was much younger. the thrills you once enjoyed as a child have been reduced to a great nothing. now everyone's got ADD, everyone's constantly bored, and everyone demands better quality. some change is good. all change is reality, and typically inevitable. but probably the 2 worst advances i've seen have been in children's entertainment. maybe i'm a complete freak (well...) for often wanting to relive my childhood, but hey, to each his own. i unplugged the N64 and climbed into the attic to get out the good old NES. you just can't beat that. i've played all the new systems, and to me, they're TOO good. TOO real. it takes away from the fact that it is a video game. it's no longer fun, because it's becoming less and less of a "getaway" from reality. enough about video games, tho. my biggest problem is with cartoons. the PS2, the GameCube, the XBox... all of those are a choice. you buy what you want and play what you want. but what's on TV isn't so easy to control. man, i miss the good old days when you could flip on the tv and watch Bugs Bunny while you ate breakfast before school. what about when you could come home and put your daily stress out of your mind with a good dose of Looney Tunes (the originals)? miss that? i do. i've dedicated the next post to a great Master List of all the cartoons gone and forgotten- movies & tv.
