Long time no update, but so much has happened these past few months and I am so tired!
Firstly, Bailey is doing so well. His eye specialist is over joyed at his progress and can't believe how well he is. Poor little bugger must have been in so much pain that it caused him all sorts of other issues. But he is eating well, putting on weight and all round so much better. He does have some issues with arthritis, but so far so good and he is coping quite well. He's such a sook though and wants all his family around 24/7.
Work has also been rather stressful, but I'm just gonna put on my big girl panties and suck it up!
Mum has had quite a few issues though. In October she had a heart attack - or rather a heart eposide and ended up in hospital for over a week in the heart ward. On the day she was discharged she then had another strange episode and we ended up spending the night in emergency. Seems that because she was on restricted fluids while in the heart ward due to her chronic kidney failure, she was dehydrated. So that was fun.
And she hasn't really picked up as fast as I would like. But at 82 that is to be expected. Then on the 24th of November she had a mild stroke which has affected her right hand and right leg. She is currently in a rehabilitation hospital where she is improving each day. She will probably be there for at least another week and a half, but she is itching to come home. And we want her home. She has been missing Bailey dreadfully for the past two weeks, so we took him up to the rehab tonight for a visit. Really helped her mental state and she was overjoyed to see him. He has been missing her as well, so it helped both of them.
Dad is pretty much OK, but has been having a rather bad gout attack in his foot this past week. You know how men get when they are sick - of course he is dying! LOL. I know how painful it is though, as the whole family suffers gout attacks from time to time. Not fun.
So I am exhausted doing all the visiting between hospitals, taking parents to places, taking dogs to the vet, going to work etc.
But that's life. And it could be so much worse
