OKAY. CONFESSION.
I was really less than thrilled with DMC? I THOUGHT IT WAS GOOD TIMES BUT ENTIRELY TOO LONG AND AT POINTS EXCEEDINGLY GRATUITOUS (ie - the whole Pelegosto plot? YEAH).
BUT
THIS
as;dljkfasdl;fj
It was so epic and big and perfect, jeeze. AND OKAY I SHIP WILL/ELIZABETH. I admit it. I honestly had little to no interest in Jack/Elizabeth ever (SORRY KRISTI) and actually generally think Jack Sparrow is a tad overrated. The movies for me are so much about Will and his hero's journey with guest appearances by Elizabeth because I guess I am programmed to always think completely differently from people regarding fiction? I STILL LOVE JACK SPARROW A LOT, don't get me wrong, but not quite as much as the rest of the world.
THAT SAID and despite that, I don't think I ever consciously shipped Will/Elizabeth for reasons unbeknown to even myself but when they were running away from Sao Fang and standing next to each other and all the sudden I got these feelings in my otp parts? and then from there it kind of EXPLODED?
and she is going to waaaaait for him and they have beachsex all the time and got married in the middle of a fight! and they went from classic love story to kind of EXCESSIVELY EPIC? a;laj
AND ALSO THE SON I DIDN'T GET TO SEE BECAUSE I WAS IGNORANT AND DID NOT WAIT. I mean, it was kind of two in the morning but Y'KNOW. I COULD'VE BEEN BOTHERED. I guess I will just have to go see it again. DAMN. Though actually because I will be in The Middle of Nowhere, WI this weekend I am thinking I will take advantage of the significantly cheaper ticket prices? YAAAY.
but back to my ramble about Jack Sparrow, I generally am not incredibly fascinated beyond HAY YOU ARE FUNNY with him except I was all over his arc in this movie? Especially with the Will+Jack somewhat awkward respect and caring but also a level of annoyance BFF thing they had going on. where when they are in tight spots, Will thinks like Jack and Jack thinks like Will! and al;djksfasf HIS FAAAACE WHEN WILL GOT STABBED JEEZE.
also Elizabeth broke my heart about 34823409234 times in that scene. I AM QUITE SERIOUS.
uhm also guys I am SUCH A SCORE FANGIRL. whenever I started hearing my favorite themes, I would get all giggly happy and...actually you probably never want to watch a movie I care about with me ever? I literally get giddy to the point where I just end up banging my palms on my legs/the armrest/other available surfaces because I am a freak like that? BUT THAT IS HOW I FELT WHENEVER THEY RESSURECTED SAY, "FOG BOUND" OR "THE BLACK PEARL" KL;JASD
also on that note, uhm, electric guitars when Elizabeth, Jack, and Sao Fang were going to meet the other three? I DO NOT APPROVE. It sounded so out of place and I like my pretty classic orchestral arrangements in Pirates, KTHNX.
whatever, the fact that the cello part in the theme from "Fog Bound" was used at least three or four times that I can remember ameliorates the pain caused by weird electric guitars.
and it came full ciiircle with Jack in his little dingy! I also love how it was resolved but left open in a not obnoxious way. and Norrington, sadface. but I think it was really appropriate and not gratuitous but just a natural end to his character arc? OR SOMETHING?
I AM RUNNING OUT OF THINGS TO SAY BUT ;LASFJASFL; ♥
