I have a confession to make. I absolutely HATE the American version of The Office! I've seen enough episodes to safely say that it is a complete load of crap. It copies, almost line for line, every joke of the original, except that it replaces any British slang term/pop culture reference with an American one! I mean, I can't be too outraged because they made it with BBC's permission and everything, but the fact remains that the original is FAR superior. Don't get me wrong... I would be just as annoyed if BBC had taken an American show and made it British. Steve Carrell is good and everything, but he's nowhere near the comic/awkward genius of Ricky Gervais. Plus the acting of the new one really pales in comparison to the original. The characters just seem so one-dimensional and entirely too good-looking.
Ugh. Why couldn't they just leave it alone? The only thing that would annoy me more is if they continued it after the original 18 (16 plus a two part Christmas special).
