Code Blue
Earlier I was up on the 2G unit with Idalee (Second Floor in the G wing). We had just taken a pt. back to their room (2 transporters to move a pt. in their bed). A code blue is called overhead. "Code Blue, Admitting, First Floor"...repeat X 3(Admitting is on the other side of the building from the G wing). I looked over at Idalee and said "Bet ya I can get there first". To which she replied "Don't bother, ER is probably already all over it". Hearing this did not deter me at all. "Bet ya $5 I can get there first" I said. With that I took off like a bolt of lightning, down the hall, down the back stair well and across the main floor. I didn't get to admitting much before the first person from the Code Response Team(3-5 seconds), but the important part is I got there first.
And yes the Pt. lived, but I figured you really didn't want to hear about the actual code itself.
