Yesterday was a nice day. It started off by my getting to sleep in until about 6:30am. I know, 6:30 is not what you would call sleeping in, but remember my weekend day starts at 5:30am because of work. The reason I was able to sleep in was because of school. The school requires us to get a CPR card through them as part of the course. For this they set aside a full 8 hour day on a Saturday to run the full American Heart Association Basic Life Support for healthcare providers. I know, 8 hours in school does not sound like a blast. The neat part is I wasn't there for anywhere near the amount of time I was told and thought I would be. It started with the instructor asking a simple question. "Who here has or has had a CPR card in the past?" All but 1 of us raise our hand. The next question followed, "Who here is certified to instruct CPR?" Four of us raise our hands. Out of 19 students 1 needed to actually learn CPR and the rest just needed to go through the motions. 3 instructors, plus 4 student who could teach meant we just buzzed through this. Watching the movie(required) was the long part. After that it was just dancing with each dummy for a set or two, and then a test. We were finished a little before 11:00am. I was really surprised. I hung out and talked with a few people while I waited for my partner then when she was done we went over notes for a few minutes and I left. Swung by Taco Bell for lunch and I was home eating lunch and watching Yu-Gi-Oh on TV a little after 11:30am.
After the cartoon I went into my room to play a video game because I had nothing else to do at the moment. Shortly after sitting down in my boredom Thunder came in and laid on the bed, then J came in to talk, and a little while after that Kirsten(my niece) was brought in and set on my bed next to the dog because she had fallen asleep and I Sis & Mom figured since I was sitting there anyways... Therefore I was now the keeper of the sleepers(Kirsten & Thunder) Made dinner and played a couple hands of cards. Didn't do much else. It turned out to be a nice, easy relaxing day. I need more of those.
