Ok my beautiful readers, as per week I bring you the review of the latest & last TVD episode. In this case, sadly, my inner fangirl writes this review with a bowed head. Yeah, we had crappy weeks with the show, but taking jabs at the TB-wonnabe was sadistically fun. I'm gonna miss it not to mention writing the reviews. Down to buisness guys..
The Good
Bonnie - Admittedly, I was sorta disappointed this week that so many of my predictions came true about so many characters. It took the edge of the episode, (as anyone with half a brain knew Katherine would turn up as she LOVES attention) but I'm so glad my crystal ball was on the money with Bonnie tho. Bonnie was so badass that I am frightened of the potential she has right now. Beyond excited for her in the next season - not jus for Bamon but as an independent character. Proving that she has so much to offer and she is infact the best of the bunch and I include the Salvatores in that. The layers to Bonnie's character are becoming apparent, esp. when you see the first Donnie scene. It starts with Bonnie trying to run off but Damon does the apology thing, pretty OOC and catches her off guard. The range of emotions that run across her face or more correctly thru her eyes is incredible. You can see the guilt and the thought of saving him, then gram's death and the full cycle of thought of coming around again on her face. I was scared that Bonnie didn't say anything but sooo proud as a fan that she stuck to her guns. Too many of the 'good' guys have flipped flopped all over the place with their decisions, making the 'bad' guys seem stubborn, ambitious - ironically human traits. But I guess - fear does that. Being fearless in this episode, for doing what's right or lesser of the two evils, you can SEE that Bonnie has pushed herself to mature beyond her years. This episode belonged to TWO girls and Bonnie was one of them.
Jeremy - haha I knew what you expected next but I give you the hero of the piece. Yeah you read right. Jeremy was the awesomeness that no one really saw coming in this episode. The pure human voice that was being tempted away by a little vampire's voice in his ear. I'll be honest, I don't think I've fully appreciated Steve McQueen's acting ability except for the Vikkie crying scene. He played Jeremy so devastatingly well, without the hint of melodrama that kept the intrest of 'would or wouldn't he' going for a while but of course it got old in the middle of all the action. I was sorta bored in the end but I take it took the fault of the writer's rather than Steve at being overused. You can't make up for sidelining the guy in ONE episode.
Bamon/Donnie - Ding dong. Just seriously - WOW. With each scene I fall in love with them more and more. What I will say is that how PROUD I am to be a Donnie shipper. Their relationship or romance will be a deep one as I get a feeling that their friendship will be rock-solid. I make these observations after I picked my jaw up after the floor. Seriously, they showed so much emotion in a 47 second clip than Damon did all episode with Elena or even Katherine for that matter. Damon seems to have so much more depth when he's around Bonnie - its astounding, he becomes more mysterious yet astoundingly human - with the power to surprise and wear down someone like Bonnie. But for whatever reason Damon has extended the hand for friendship, I've got a feeling he's gonna stick to it. He respects Bonnie now, not just in the beginning as a witch but a person. Notice how he said she was 'good'? Damon can't doubt Bonnie's heart anymore as she took a decision no one else was willing to make - and it Damon KNOWS that in actual fact that it has little to do with her powers but her loyalty to Elena (the first characteristic he ever noticed about her). And don't tell me that Bonnie doesn't give a damn about Damon. Hesitation speaks louder than denial - not to mention a Damon IOU
Katherine - Apart from Bonnie who ruled with jus 4 minutes in the whole episode, Katherine made quite an impression. I'll be honest, I didn't find her that impressive in the flashbacks - but I'm very grateful to her to making the show seem like a real VAMPIRE show. She maybe the devil. But she's a devil with style, and Nina is certainly in her element playing her. Of course, Katherine also gets brownie points if she bumped off Isobel & if she kills Elena..I'll wear a Katherine Pierce shirt. I couldn't care less what she does to Elena in season 2 but I wonna see her come face-to-face with Bonnie the only one powerful enough to stop her. I got a feeling she thinks the Bennetts still owe her loyalty and Bonnie is no vampire's bitch.
Jonathan - Were they trying to make me hate this guy? cz well it never worked. Not with the vampire genocide part either cz Anders is born to play these types of roles - and I'm gonna miss him alot. He played Jon as a complicated character - one that realised was making excuses for himself, he hated vampires for a bunch of reasons but he believed that he's doing it for his family. Sadly, the family he never had. I've got mixed feelings about his death, I know he wasn't needed anymore & his death will give another intresting storyline (which is sorta wasted on Elena if you think about it) but hey, karma always likes to bite asses.
Damon/Jeremy - Bittersweet. Question is, is Jer's death Damon's fault?
Damon/Anna - That was uncalled for. It was very sad, that Damon had to watch her die..
The Bad
Elena - The point was..? if you can answer that I'll move her to the 'Good' section but even Jeremy's telling her to go to hell.
Delena - Bwhaha. Sorry. Jus had to get it out of my system..bwhahaha That has just gotta hurt
'Good' Damon - A little painful watching him trying to be the hero and deny it..and embracing his humanity the day K gets back? Bad move. I'm sorta glad Damon isn't Heathcliff anymore but since when does humanity strip you from a sense of humour and spunk?
The Pointless
Anna - I'm sorta angry about Anna. Her scenes were meh for me cz well I knew she would die. But thinking back, was she jus there to be Jeremy's Vikki 2.0? Badly done, writers, badly done.
Jeanna - Please let Katherine kill her. Bad friend, guardian jus pointless. No wonder Elena likes her so much
Dalaric - Can we please have a season2 episode without these two having a scene? Dalaric are trying so hard to be macho its painful. Like bonding over a vampire ex wasn't bad enough
Tyler - Apart from the writers throwing a bone to the Jyler&Tonnie fans, Tyler was in it cz..? Oh yeah he had to nearly kill Caroline. Dude, if he turned into a werewolf and tried to eat Caroline would've been an 'OMG' moment not to mention sending Matt off to a psych ward. So many possibilities. *sigh* The writers just don't like him do they?
Stefan - Poor guy was jus a filler. But hey, the writers also killed Damon (not literally but ya know..), so what do you expect?
Stelena - They're doomed *sob* No matter how many lovey dovey moments they have..the triangle has begun :( But hey at least the writers showed that the triangle is gonna end in tears.
Delena/Datherine - What I don't get is why Delena had so many scenes? I'm incl. the ones where Damon stood around looking creepily at Elena. I wish they hadn't shown them together as much, cz Damon came across as a nusiance, something Elena pitied. Ouch. The day Elena pities myself I would take a stake and drive thro my heart. And the kiss Damon gave 'Elena' is nowhere near hot as Delena fans claim, its jus so meh that I wish they'd stop already when I watched it. I told you. Delena is sorta UST-y when they stand apart but when they touch each other its like Damon is molesting his younger sister. So wrong on so many levels. Not to mention the fact - Damon betrayed his brother..
