More on Tokyo Pop and Other Publishers
One word: Doom.
I forgot to mention... Tokyo Pop is pretty much doomed for being the next ADV, joint ventures
Big Tent Entertainment that sub-brand collectibles and toys and so forth miscellaneous stuff, and their mishap with Manga Pilot already has a handful manga artists and unsatisfied customers that may no longer buy their books. I don't follow Yaoi Manga, except BL Drama CD. Looks like a company called
Iris Print also closed up its shop. As for trends, America is so not Asia where things from last week and month moves on forward with the cash flow, where the new releases
overwhelmed the manga market being one of the reasons... Even with the slow down on the global economy, America is in a slump...
ETA: Iris Print not paying the artist and author submitting their work. DO NOT SUPPORT THEM.

Language: 漫画/漫畫 = Manhua = Manhwa = Manga = Comic, they all mean the same thing. I still find it boggling people still try to distinct one thing from another, exception in language context one thing in another language may not mean the same thing in another; if it's borrowed, it means just that because it cannot be translated again. Leave it alone...
Benefits of Speaking English Over Japanese, but it's always good to know the language because you don't know when you will need it when you travel anywhere and types of reaction one will get. Remote local areas or regions when travelling some people don't even speak the language, or only know some.
