Saiyuki Fandom: Going Down Under

All comments will be screened. If it gets out of hand, comments will be disabled

Take a few minutes and read the whole thing before opening the Venus Fly-trap.

Let's all get off the mighty high horse and actually sit down together, and have some wine and cheese.

Let's reflect upon the fandom matters. Why the once truly and well respected of this fandom has gone downhill the way it is? Why people feel antagonize for those who done no wrong, and those who feel they have been wronged? If you want to start a wank, Capslock Saiyuki welcomes you; in fact mock everything in existence that is part of life. Otherwise, life is just too serious and those within the fandom, which it is no longer soul purpose of entertainment; the purpose of fun, joy and entertainment are gone because of this. No longer working as a team or group, just bunch of individuals feel they are right about everything without looking at the big picture.

People who have nothing better to do than to bash pairings. If you don't like said pairing don't read it, click the back space and scroll up, and ignore it. No one is forcing it in your face in having to read and look at said pictures. There are plenty of pairing to go around, and community such as Love You Weird exist for the first place for utterly most obscene pairings within the fandom. I recommend reading Why Fanfic? for a good food for thought and enlightenment; regardless of what pairing, characters and type of writing materials being written by fans alike. Why we continue to do so to write, why mythology, legends and pantheon exist from ancient ancestors that continue to go down this route of retelling and reinventing stories to capture both reality and our fragment of imagination.

People who bash said characters that they dislike/hate, if you dislike/hate the character then stop moaning and whining about it. Is not going to make the character go away or disappear anytime soon until the creator or author said so. Yes, there will always be fictional or non-fictional characters people like and dislike; sorry life is never fair for being social and interactive people, even though some choose to remain silent and recluse about it. Honestly, character bashing is no different from being a school yard bully picking on another person weaker than you are (the irony of it is actually the other way around, those who feel they need to pick on others are actually weaker) because they are characters that fans and the like relate to them.

Whether you are new or old to the fandom, I honestly don't care. Because when you join another fandom, the same thing happens where you become new and those who have been the fandom longer than you. The ultimate truth, stop the whining about the spoilers, there will always be spoilers posted everywhere in every single communities and individual journals for discussions and the like. Even the summaries are spoilers that draw you into the series, how else the creator know if it is going to pick up and expand into a larger fan base for said series.

Route of all causes and which I'm still baffled from this from what I have been hearing and based on personal observations, simply staying out of it for sake of fandom itself. Radio Free Banri, or I should say the Moderators who run the journal itself and continues to fall into their own grave and unable to get themselves back up. How much more lower can you go? People who once respect you no longer have your respect because how many downfalls of being on the mighty high horse and think that you own the fandom entirely to yourself.

Is disgusting... Is disrespectful and downright rude... It is even rude to invade people's journal for expressing how they feel, when the journal you run the events, and when people spend their own personal time to have fun for the sheer joy of entertainment. Contest are not made to be jump through hoops; they are for fun where everyone wins and even those lose in contest will feel good after participating, and spectators alike cheering their favourite writers and artists on. Please telling people off who hide behind sock-puppet journals make one like yourself any better, when you hide behind a sock-puppet journal. That's rather hypocrite. Though all things I have stated above will likely fall back into this paragraph because events that happened and which continue to spiral downhill equals disgusting and disrespectful.

I guess is time to slow down, sit back and change for the better.

I'm not writing this to be popular, which some of you may rub it the wrong way. I'm writing this, because I care about fandom and the stake of where the fandom is at. Which the oldbies alike who built the place from the ground up, thus the communities continue expand and grow by itself. We can continue to watch it go downhill like Naruto Fandom, or we can reverse these changes for the better cause of the fandom.

I thank those who help contribute to the fandom and those who take their time to translate the scans, even though from time-to-time it gets buried under the pile of comments; it can't be helped. Stories are made to be told and retold as a timeless tale, which lessons are to be learned but never forgotten. I think most of us have forgotten that already and learn to respect their peers.

More fanwork, fan contributions and sharing; less drama.

No one owns this fandom. Not you, not me. We all, as a fans own this fandom as a whole.
