They hadn’t even really talked to each other before this day, besides the Monogatari, and yet here he was, dangling several floors up off a building’s roof, wearing stupid, utterly ridiculous headphones while small droplets of Doumeki’s blood splattered onto his face and smoke billowed around him.
But when those golden eyes remained sharply on his face, despite the incredible strain his weight must have been putting on his arching shoulder, he knew better than he had ever known anything that he would not be allowed to fall.
So he gripped more tightly this hand, his lifeline, and held on.
