Tonight I hung out at Dave's, played good old Red Faction on PS2, and reminisced about back in the day when I'd walk home everyday and play video games at his place after school whilst listening to epic rock albums (Rush, Matthew Good Band, RATM, Mike Oldfield's "Tubular Bells"). Since I had to drive, instead of drinking beer with the boys, I drank an entire bottle of cherry cola and I'm still coming down from my sugar high...
Whilst recalling the days of high school, Dave, Geoff and I were reminded that one day we will have to explain to our kids exactly why we listened to so much crappy music between about 1998-2003. Seriously - Limp Bizkit, Korn, Nickelback, Creed, Incubus, Papa Roach, Alien Ant Farm... why the hell were we listening to this crap? With some exceptions, the unwholesome diet of rap-metal, nü-metal and breadrock was what we were fed by the radio during this period and there are too many bands here to mention. Forever more, our generation will be stained by this like the 70s with disco and the 80s with hair metal.
What's your excuse?
