Theatrical Muse Topic: Marriage

John’s marriage to Jill, for the most part, had been happy. They had shared so much in common, in ways that merged the physical, intellectual and spiritual. He could talk about anything with her, and the little romantic gestures, the poetry quotes, the walks by the ocean and the unexpected flowers now and then were delightful moments that could light up the very dullest day.
It had all been perfect... and then one day it was all gone.
Although the relationship with Amanda and Zep was very different to the one with Jill - it was far less conventional, for starters - in John’s eyes it was still very much a marriage. Despite the lack of legality, the connection of mind and body he had with his two lovers was every bit as intense as what he had once shared with his wife. And although his cancer meant that there would be a definite end to the happiness the three of them shared, this only made it all the more precious.
