Theatrical Muse Topic: How far back can you trace your family tree?

I can trace my family tree pretty far back, at least three or four centuries. My grandmother on my mother’s side was very into genealogy and kept all the records of the family’s history that she could. And my paternal grandparents were also very proud of their ancestors - Grandma Kramer was always going on about how we came from a long line of respectable folk who did good things for their communities. I admit to being a tad disappointed about that when I was a little boy - I thought it would have been great fun to have had, say, a pirate in the family line!
The histories that my elders compiled are in my possession now, and I’m keeping them safe for Gideon and Serafina. Already they’ve started asking questions about how the family came to be, how the seeds of our little clan were sown, and I’m going to make a start by telling them about how my side of it came to be. I’d be intrigued, and I’m sure the kids would be too, to learn more about the origins of Amanda and Zep as well!
