Am glad I didn't break this. It was a little soaked from running under the rain and I worried I'd ruined it. It seems to be working fine though.
Have finally met up with Kurosaki and his friends. Have a decent roof over our heads as well. So that's good. I still don't like the fact that it's raining outside, but ignoring that and considering that we finally have a plan for tomorrow (we need to find this person that the mercenary -- Zack, was it? -- mentioned grabbed his friend), I have to admit that so far, we have it good (or at least as good as they can be).
There's still the problem of where we plan to get currency to pay for board and lodging, but I managed a small deal with the hotel manager to let the three of us stay in a room for the night. I don't have any problem with helping out with the staff (Yachiru's too young and admittedly I was a little worried that taicho might balk at the idea of working in the kitchen. Don't get me started on how he'd call them 'woman's work'). Dishes and whatever else, I can do. Growing up in a family wherein the boys did more damage than good teaches you that.
Just... ANYTHING to just get a decent bed to rest in. I don't want to lie on a slightly debris-covered floor in a building that looks like it might fall apart. When I think of all that dust and rubble I shiver. The discomfort lingers in the mind as well.
And while keeping an eye out for Zaraki-taicho to prevent any... unnecessary conflict between him and Kurosaki may make me feel like a babysitter, the fact that company's closeby is comforting. I haven't talked much to the other people, but I give it a day or two.
The people (the staff) at the hotel creep me out a little though. It bothers me to feel that kind of discomfort. They look so... dead lifeless, and to think I'm the shinigami around here.
Well. In any case, I have to put this down. Work calls thank kami it's not paperwork.
