Rebel
Its been awhile since I last posted anything on here. I need as many prayers as I can get. My big baby boy Rebel is very sick. I let one of my horses , Vera Rai (aka grey) go out to lease at another farm , went to check on him 4 weeks later and he had dropped at least 150-200lbs!!! So I terminated the lease and brought him home asap. Well it seems

My yearling sadly had to be put to sleep on 25th June :-(
He lost weight, couldn't put any on, was very sick. He went to a top equine hospital where they took a biopsy of his gut to see what was going on. The section of gut they took the biopsy from stopped working, they went in and took that part out and then his whole gut stopped working. He degraded over 5 days, he had no reserves left to the point of his body had started to digest itself because he couldnt eat and had no fat left and the IV food was as much as he could have but wasnt being digested. When his surgery wound started degrading we had to let him go. It was very sad and I'm still not anywhere near over it. He is very much missed. Turned out what he had (they found out about 6 weeks later after continuing investigations) had only been reported 20 times in the world, so they dont know how to deal with it. His gut was constantly inflaming and his stomach was leaking protein, his white blood cell count was through the roof and nothing worked.
It still doesnt seem real.
