Ned had a job. It wasn't a glamorous job, he often went home smelling like donuts and coffee cake but it was a job and it was getting him out of the hotel room and garnering him valuable experience working in a bakery.

Still. After having a batch of jelly donuts crushed against his chest when another baker tripped and burning himself on one of the stoves, Ned wasn't sure if the job was actually worth the price. He wanted to bake but he wanted to bake pies. Sometimes, he got the opportunity but, for the most part, this wasn't one of those bakeries.

He made sure he was pleasant enough even to customers who glared at him like he'd caused several world wars and kicked their dog to boot. The best thing about the job was that he got to bring home groups of pastries that went uneaten throughout the day so as not to waste them.

Ned wondered, as he bagged up a large group of Boston creme donuts for his trip home, if Kaylee would ever get tired of sweets.

He guessed no.

[NFB but the girl can definitely ping in if she so chooses!]
