Where's my masseuse?

Jul 15, 2007 00:25

Yay! The weekend's here! I can finally rest *stares at two bags of students' exercise book that's a metre away from where I'm sitting* and relax *casts a seconds' glance at a Geography textbook that's placed beside me*.

You know what? I BADLY need a massage! My shoulders and feet are aching like anything. I've been asking my mom to give me a massage for the past few days. Her massages did ease the aches a little and that's good. However, they're not enough. Hopefully if I'm up for it tomorrow, I'll wake up early so that I can go to JB to get my much needed massage.

On an entirely different note... How the heck DO you tackle cases of bullying if it were to occur in your class(es)? Bullying is rampant in one of my classes and I really loathe it when I have to deal with such cases (on almost an everyday basis for that matter!).

Oh yeah...speaking of loathing something. I never knew that there could be so many things in this world that I could hate. However, the weeks that have unfolded ever since I started work has made me realize that I have the capacity to hate many things in life.

1. I hate it when students shout at me... FOR NO REASON!! All I did was ask a simple question and he has to shout as though I'm standing ten feet away from him. I was standing barely an arm's length away from him when he shouted at me for that matter. And yeah, he's only THIRTEEN! What ever has happened to respecting your elders?

2. I hate it when students refuse to admit their fallacies. It's one thing to be weak at something like spelling. It's another (irritating) thing altogether to be egoistic enough not to accept help when it comes. If your teacher who sincerely wants to help you improve in it were to implement solutions like conducting a spelling test, you jolly well accept it. No doubt it's primary school-ish. Thing is, you should look at the big picture. If you're really not good in your spelling till you spell simple words such as "PEACE" as "PICE" or "COUSINS" as "CAUZINS", then going back to basics like LEARNING TO SPELL is an option. Don't give me crap like "That's so childish!" or "Eh, don't want ah! So primary school!".

3. I hate it when students don't practice anger management. To these students (so far, they're all guys), I can't wait to see you get enlisted into NS. You'll then know the true meaning of "controlling your anger".

4. I hate it when students are brave enough to be embroiled in a fist fight and yet cower in fear when asked to do a simple thing like give a speech to the class. Where has all that bravado gone man?

5. Lastly (heh, this is all that I can think of at the moment), I hate it when students REFUSE to do their work. Like, get this straight. School and assignments/school work/homework come in a package. You can't get the former without the other. Not only that, do they have ANY IDEA how much all the books that their parents bought cost? It costs well over a hundred dollars and they're letting all that money go to waste by leaving it blank. Why bother to buy the books (or even come to school at all) when you have no intention of attempting the questions inside? And please, don't give me even MORE rubbish like "My parents ask me to go to school" when you know deep inside that going to school is important to you. It doesn't take much to admit that schooling is important you know.
