Hey, just to confirm, its an English translation of the Quran? I've been looking for one for AGES! Even resort to online means ok! Actually I have a few translations of Quran "inherited" from my Dad, but honestly I can't follow. Maybe its just me lah, I need very clear-cut Layman's terms so I can understand. And yes, there IS a Haji Hashim in Geylang lol. My parents frequent there everytime we go Geylang so yours truly memorised. I even know how he looks like! Er, the shop better be named after this sales-pakcik lah. Wait its some er deceased person or what.. Ye-ye-oh aje kenal Haji Hashim! I think I'll be going there soon. Will keep a look out for said book! Thanks!
Yep! it's the English translation of the Koran! I highly recommend this version cos the language used is less obscured.
I have another one (oh dear. i forgot who translated it) which is green in colour. However for this, the language is a bit more obscured (read: harder to follow) but it contained footnotes at every page to explain to you what some of the words used meant. It also makes some cross reference to hadiths so we'll understand the contents better.
So yep, if you're really interested, you can get these two versions of the Koran. One for its easy read and the other, for its extra information. Just text me if you want to know the name of the author for the other translated version!
