I'm at work, and hear two guys and a girl talking about tattoos. I've nothing better to listen to (while pricing items and putting them away the next aisle over), so I listen to these idiots. Fuck this, and fucking that, and shit, I dont want this fucking color, I want ten of that damn color.. I want my dragon to have two hundred colors in it! I'lll just give him five hundred dollars straight up, in cash.. *rolls eyes*
I think wtf? From their conversation, I gather that they're intending to buy a crapload of ink (the type used for writing with pens), to go have made into tattoos. My first thought- "umm... thats not tattoo ink," then think "are they really that stupid?" Then I hear the first one say that "dont use that brand, I did one with that and it fucking sucks!" I roll my eyes and think, yes, they are that stupid.
I stop and think should I say something? Is it any of my business? I finally decide that I should, if for no other reason that i'd hope if I were ever making that stupid of a mistake, someone would tell me I was before I actually did it. Plus, I am not sure what sort of pigments are used in those inks- a lot of the ones in paints are really toxic. Best to at least try to save these idiots from themselves...
I go around the corner and say "I dont mean to snoop, but are you guys going to use these for tattoos?" they say yeah, and i tell them i dont think those are tattoo inks. The second guy says "see, i told you we need to ask the tattoo guy!" and i told them about the dangerous chemicals, that the inks you'll need you'll probably have to buy online or from a tatt parlor, and that they'll be bottled/labled so they're sterile. the first guy announces that the tattoo he did (himself, from the sounds of it), "burned like hell" because he used those inks we sell at the art store.
duh.
so they thank me and wander off agreeing that they need to go talk to whoever theyll be getting their tattoo done by. i just shake my head and go back to work.
On a side note, here are some funny videos I was shown today. The "Unconventional Dance Moves" one is funny. The very ending of the Reenactment of Pan's Labyrinth is funny too.
