we started out moving nicks things to moms and moving my stuff in at moms a little at a time. moved nicks things to dads. now we're moving my stuff downstairs, moving nicks stuff back to moms. *sigh* seems lately my life has just been a bunch of hard menial labor. ugh. *laying on heatpad* but it'll be worth it once i have the whole basement room set up exactly how i want. Futon couch, tv (need to get a cheap dvd player, or see if i can snag austins), i'll have my bed down there one way or another, got one corner set up as a neat closet area.. um.. i'm going to blanket one half of the room off to help block the light from sarah's cage, make the bedroom half a little more private. computer desk and my art table should all fit down there too.. nearly everything i want, all right there.
christmas was great- got to see most of the extended family again, some i havent seen in ages. i got to spend nearly a week with one of my best friends in the world. made shiiiiitloads of cookies with mom and one of my aunts (love the chocolate mint pinwheels i make, yum). got the regular assortment of presents (everything from weird but cute little concrete gargoyle statues to clothes), and dad and kimberly got each of us girls a pretty necklace- think they call them eternity necklaces or something like that. it's a little S shape of diamonds. mom let us pick out some clothes (so we'd actually wear whatever she got us, i guess was her reasoning), and among with some other shirts, i got a very pretty black and red corset-looking top i paired with a black jacket and wore for grandpas christmas party.
did a few errands today- got all the paperwork crap they need for the DMV, and went and took the written test without studying. I passed (woo!), so they got me a shiney new indiana licence. it's got a pink band across the top, which im not crazy about, but they put the cardinals on it, which i do like. i'm technically two months late in changing it over, but eh... what they dont know wont hurt them. next day off i need to go get the title transferred over to my name, and get insurance quotes.
let's see, what else..
i'm currently in the process of building a 30" x 30" by 6 foot tall wire screen cage to put around a ficus tree. why? to keep a pet mantis in, of course. if i do it all correctly, the entire front door will hinge open to take the tree in or out (make it easier to move, too), then there'll be a second, smaller door that will open to just be able to reach in and feed it. I may look into getting a handful of one of the exotic mantis types- you can keep several of them together without them cannibalizing each other.
i guess that's it for now. am tired. off to bed.
