A slightly belated Happy Father's Day, or Patersden, to everyone who celebrates it. I hope you all had a wonderful day, however you spent it. In a manner of speaking I do! Yes, my mother's hair is almost exactly like mine, except she doesn't have sideburns.

You have a point. It isn't any great mystery. I do indeed like store things! I take after my mother and father both in that respect. They met as rival shopkeepers and merged their two shops into one when they married.

Is there anyone you'd say you take after, Trucy?

Thats cool that your momand dad met like that. My mom and dad kind of met like that too. Except they weren't rival magicians.

Sideburns are the strips of hair that grow on my face, in front of my ears.

I suppose work is where many people meet their spouses. I met my own husband at a diplomatic dinner.

I'm sorry to hear about your mother, Trucy. I didn't mean to bring up any unpleasant topics.

Maybe you could also take after your new daddy? He seems like a very nice man!

Yes, those. Exactly, they're like mustaches for the side of the face. Or half-beards, you could say!

Oh, getting married was quite a wonderful experience, and being married is very rewarding. Not that I believe everyone needs to be married, but it is nice to have a partner to share life with.

Ah, and I see. I suppose it isn't necessary to take after anyone in particular. Or perhaps your daddy could take after you!
