A funny little man with a big head is standing on a crate, while carrying enough balloons to lift an African Elephant up into the stratosphere - let alone such a little funny man like him. However, he's not floating away so there must be something special about him or those balloons ( Read more... )

Have a Mizuno Ami! She's an Asian girl, perhaps in her mid-teens, dressed somewhat fashionably and with oddly dark eyes. She's also eyeing the balloons with a grin.

"I want one!" she decides impulsively. She turns to the funny little odd-voiced man and asks, "How much are they?"

A pause. "Ah... But is money from my world alright?"

She'd probably be thrilled beyond belief if a balloon with the Mercury sigil ☿ or something related to water could be found among the bunch.

He takes a look over. "300 yen's fine, I got so many I might as well give it away!" Mr. Mxyzpltk answered cheerfully. "You look like a Blue lady," He searched the massive bunch.

A color near and dear to her heart. She nods crisply, still smiling. All it takes to bring out the little girl in the brooding soldier is balloons, apparently. She eyes the balloons herself, and notices several blue ones - of course; it's a common color.

"Mm, I have 300 yen," she agrees, "But will that really work in your Japan, too?"

"If it doesn't work there, I can make it work anywhere else." Nevermind that he's not from your puny 3rd Dimension. He pulled out a glittering blue one with little Dolphins on it. "Like this one?"

Don't worry; she doesn't live in the human world dimension, either.

She'll be laughed at endlessly for wanting balloons, but Ami is still the girl who has something bordering on a fixation with an amusement park, too. Anyway, the dolphins are cute, and she nods before reaching for a few coins, which she hands over in exchange for the pretty, glittery toy. This will make her cheerful all day.

Unless, of course, she pops it. There's a small chance Ami might notice something wrong in time to carefully avoid it, but those senses aren't nearly as developed in her as they are in some of her comrades, and the spell or charm would have to be pretty much hit her over the head - especially since she wouldn't be looking for it.

He makes the coins zip out to a remote Jar labeled 'Inter-dimensional Agitate the Heroes Day Fund'.

If Ami pops the balloon - there might be that squeaky-clean scent of Spandex and little sparkles - FASCINATING sparkles!

Convenient, that! But Ami's already got the spandex and sparkles. Not that the ones from the balloon aren't welcome. But what does a hero balloon do to a girl with powers who used to be a hero and left - and who associates the word with all those negatives?

She won't have to worry about it for awhile, at least. But the balloon is still shiny!

"Thank you," she says politely. "But, who are you?" He's a bit odd-looking, after all, and very small.

"Mr. Mxyzptlk. That's Mix-Yes-Spit-Lick for pronunciation purposes." He doffed his hat.

She can't help but be amused by the quaint gesture, and makes a polite greeting in return: "I'm Mizuno Ami. I'm pleased to meet you."
