The Nexus's population has just been increased by one - in this case, a tall black man dressed like an undertaker on his day off; his black top hat's at a slight angle and his belt is loosened. There's no shirt under his black tailcoats and his shoes are more than a mite scuffed. That would be from dancing up a storm with no regard for his footwear ( Read more... )

Indigo pokes her head into the Nexus, hearing the question, and raises one eyebrow.

Being a multipurpose geek, she knows who she thinks she sees, and decides to make the appropriate gesture of respect. She places a bottle of Bacardi dark at his feet.

"I'd like to say the kind where everyone goes home happy -- if they can remember where home is -- and they can actually muster up the energy to go anywhere," she begins, "But really, I'm sort of a low key person because when my life stops being low key, it really stops being low key. So quiet cozy little soiree is my ideal party as things are right now."

He grins, - out of good humor, of course, rather than just because he doesn't really have any other option. It's a smile wide as a skull's, showing gleaming white teeth.

"Why thank you." He sits up slightly and tips his hat to her. "Nice to see there's some around here still a little familiar with my ways." A pause during which he exhales a smoke ring.

"And I can respect that. Might be a little too low key for my taste, most of the time, but sometimes I don't mind a quiet little get together. So long as there's still good booze." He taps the side of the bottle she's just given him.

Indigo inclines her head. "My pleasure, Baron," she replies. "Oh, I can do the other kind of party too -- the kind where everyone goes home happy ...once they remember where home is and can gather enough wit to try and go."

"My parties have enough booze for those who wanna drink it, but you oughta taste my cooking."

"If it's a real good party, nobody ought to know for... mm, give it a day or two." He winks. "Maybe one of these days I'll have to have a bite of somethin' you make some day. What's your specialty, honey?"

"I'm pretty low-key. A fan of the backyard barbecue, y'know?" Njoki beams and offers him one of her cigarellos. It's always good business to be polite to boss.

"Those're always fine. Least you don't have to worry about there bein' a lack of good food. Get yourself some good company, some music, and those are the best."

He takes it nods. "Much obliged. How about you get a drink from my bottle here and we'll call it even?" He winks and produces a glass from... well, from somewhere.

"Glad you think so, sir." Njoki makes a pie that was been known to make grown men weep with happiness.

"That'd be just fine." If he doesn't mind that she'll smoke one of her own?

The Baron, of course, doesn't mind a bit. The more the merrier and all. He passes over the glass, now full with amber liquid.

"I hope you been well?"

"Well on yer way there, mate," Matthew grins and may try to reach for the rum. Sharing is caring mate, don't ye want to show you care? "Could use a few more bottles, p'raps an instrument or three, few more people."

"I always am well on my way there, y'know. No matter where I go, there's always a party poppin' up somewhere in my vicinity."

He laughs and hands him the rum. "Reckon I could get more bottles, music and people easy enough. Give it a few more minutes, son. We'll have something here in a shake or two."

:D This seems like a good person to hang out with. "Sounds a plan to me."

He makes himself comfortable on the couch next to the baron and takes a healthy swig of rum. "And who're ye, that a party will follow ye whenever ye wish?"

"Baron Samedi. Or Baron Cimetiere or Baron La Croix, if y'like. Seein' as this ain't my day, ain't a boneyard of any sort far as I can see and is a crossroad if ever I knew one, maybe you ought to go for the latter. Not that I mind much, whatever you call me. Not a picky man, me."

"Fair enough. It's a common sentiment, sure." He taps a foot idly before gesturing toward the rum. "Care for a drink?"

"Certainly. Bring it on up!"

He passes over the bottle. "Hope you don't mind rum. I prefer it spiced myself, but hell, sometimes you just gotta take what you can get."

"I've always liked that kind too. Fast dancing, with loud music. Somethin' with a beat, you know? A good rhythm that'll get you movin'."

Yes, exactly~!" Adora does a little twirl, causing those dark robes of hers to billow out a little, "Where moving is more than encouraged." :D

The baron claps appreciatively. "Those are the most fun. Just sitting and talking ain't the same. There's a time and place for that, I realize, but sometimes it's just better to move."

ooc: No problem. Happens to me all the time ;D
