"Somebody kept trying to explain it the other day, but all I heard was 'time machine' before I... ah, decided to stop trying to make sense of it." That's being polite. What she means is before my eyes glazed over and my mind drifted slightly to the left.
"Acronym. Stands for Time and Relative Dimensions in Space," Indigo offers. "Time machine is the best exp--" and then she pauses.
"Why am I telling you this? Why don't you know this?" She peers at him. He looks like the Doctor. "You're supposed to know this. It isn't like there aren't ten of you running about in the Nexus."
"You look like the Doctor," Indigo points out, calmly. "Sound like him, too." But the Nexus is full of wily types. Shapeshifters. And she's pretty sure she saw the Master lurking about at one time or another.
"Well, yes, that's true too," she agrees. "Have you got a pocket watch?" she offers instead.
"Well, I am a doctor. Bowman. Doctor Bowman. Isn't that how alternate realities work, though?" He actually checks his pocket, but... "No, I've never seen much point in watches. For some...reason." >_>
"Well, yes, seeing as you used to own one..." This is getting stranger by the second and he has the distinct feeling something is Very Wrong, Indeed. He does that thinky frown.
