So I've been Productive. :)

Since I got back from GA, I've been on a sewing spree! I have no idea where it came from, and I think it's dying down now, but it was great while it lasted!! When I got back home on January 14th-ish(?) I slept a lot and was then motivated to reorganize all my fabric bins (and get rid of fabrics I will not use in this lifetime...most likely). I separated my fabric bins by projects and uncovered some old prints/fabrics that I had meant to make into lolita, but never got around to. I decided it was fitting to at least finish the projects that I had cut/sketched out before moving onto new ones. (Yes, yes, I know I'm supposed to be working on cos-pu-ray.)

Pampered Puppies was supposed to have been made by Otakon for the fashion show...but looking back, it wouldn't have fit anyway.

LOL!! I've been keeping the rooster print for a while, just waiting to make roosterlita! I totally want red farmer boots and a chicken!

Ha ha ha, my most 'faved' of all! This was a what-the-hey kinda project. I found sparkly kitties and then paired it up with some fun fabrics/trim I already owned. Dyed a whole bunch of lace/trim too. I have evil plans for this skirt...and awesome long-term plans for the remnants.

All in all, I have remnants from all of these prints and I want to make kodona out of them. :P (Great..just what I need...more projects...)

There are two less complete outfits I need to tweak before I take snapshots of them, but I think I've just started a new line with these skirts; OSO Fun. :) I think I'm going to switch to making more a-line skirts/jsks for 2011. I love the cupcake look, but I've made so many already. I need to switch things up! I still have some loli fabric to keep me busy; another (more playful) dog print for a skirt or jsk, floral shear for a lolita-esque design, and a more classic cat print for an a-line OP. Since I'm not as motivated to make these right now, I'll focus on my cosplay challenges. (I have TONS of fabric for Unrefined that I'm probably going to revisit in a few months or so.)

COSPLAY!!
As for my monthly challenge, I believe I already stated that my Jan-March will be mixed since I spent most of Jan making Lina Inverse spauldrons (spaulders + pauldrons = spauldrons). With that said, I've made considerable progress on Melissa Tiss these past few weeks. While she will not be complete by Katsu, I do plan on having the 'dress' 90% done and her leg...warmers/armor done. Everything else will be complete by Fanime.

Katsucon 2011
I will be attending Katsucon, but only for Saturday. :) I'll have at least two loli outfits in the show. I'll probably wear the puppy jsk or the kitty skirt and envi has graciously complied to being my model. She will wear one of the outfits that I need to tweak. It'll be a surprise for the show!! No one can know. (Mwahahahahaaa!!)

If there are any other tiny peeps willing to sport my stuffs, it'd be much appreciated! Need smaller people; bust 34, waist 25-26, shoes size 7 (unless you have your own array of pretty loli shoes).

Class
I'm also taking a Ceramics class this semester and I'm going to focus on making Japanese tea bowls based on the five Chinese elements: fire, water, earth, wood and metal. I'm having too much fun working with wood right now, and I don't know how I'll create other elemental pieces as strong (imagery wise) as the wood bowls I've made. I know that I want to make a rock bowl for earth, but I haven't decided what kind of rock yet. I do know that I want to allude to a geode. I love making the outsides of my bowls plain and dull, but then adding beautiful colors on the insides. I also want to work with textures mostly on the outside and have smoother textures on the inside. (For easy whisking and cleaning.) I don't know what I want to do with fire, I don't know that I (personally) can do what I want for water, and I'm not really looking forward to metal. *sigh*

As for the tea bowls I've already made, there is always the chance that I'll mess them up with glazing!! Need to be careful. (Am hoping the latest of my three wood bowls makes it above the rest.) I was going to just take pictures after they were glazed...but now I'm thinking that I should take s few before they might get ugly...

Anywhoo, when the bowls are complete, I hope I can convince someone to have some tea with me. ( I would love to take a Chado class!
