Series: X/1999
Character: Seishirou Sakurazuka
Warning: Spoilers for most of the series, if they are considered spoilers anymore. Also, spoilers for Tokyo Babylon.
Summary: Seishirou, sir, you must be very bad at chess.

Dear Seishourou,

May I begin by saying that I adore how deliciously evil you are as a general rule. You are amazingly bad and you cannot quite fathom how much I adore you for it. I think your relationship with Subaru is probably the most interesting relationship that CLAMP has ever done, and all told, I fangirl all over you.

However, there are a few things that make me want to hit you with a kayak paddle. You, sir, must be very bad at chess. You can think a thousand steps in advance, but you seem to forget that other people are playing, most specifically the prey of the Sakurazukamori: Subaru-kun. You know him. You watched him, intimately, for a year. You toyed with his heart, destroyed him, abused him, and tread upon any sanity he may ever have had, and still you forgot who it was you were dealing with when you formulated your final scheme?

That was stupid of you. You assumed Subaru wanted to kill you for what was done to Hokuto-chan, but you know Subaru. That would never have been his wish. He isn't bloodthirsty or cruel, and he doesn't know how to be assertive or selfish. You should have remembered that.

Some part of me wonders if you didn't remember that.

But still you did the one thing that could have hurt him more. You didn't kill him, no that would have been a release from all the pain for him. You killed yourself, via him, fufilling your mother's prophecy for you, and turning Subaru into the next Sakurazukamori.

You ruined his life, all because you "forgot" that he would never seek someone's death. I'm not sure I buy that, Seishirou-san, but I do not know whether to admire your cruelty or hit you for being stupid.

I hope the party in the afterlife is good, and that Hokuto beats sense into you.

So much love,
fireflypenance
