Warnings: Might mention a few spoiler-ish things from the new season. And Jessi isn't my most favorite character, so I'm not really nice to her.
Summary: Mostly ranting at Kyle about how the show has taken a horribly wrong turn this season.
Dear Kyle
Ok, let me start first by saying I have been a devoted fan of yours since the show premiered in 2006. It has mystery, drama, angst, and is scientific in its nature but doesn't count on that to carry it through to its popularity-all good things. It is unlike anything I had ever watched on tv before. So kudos on being a truly original show that kept me on the edge of my seat.
That said...I really have to ask what the hell is going through your mind these days, and subsequently, where the heck you're leading your story. What's up with all the Jessi admiration and the kissing? This was the girl who started out being your ENEMY, who attacked your adopted sister and who, generally in my opinion, isn't above doing whatever is necessary to get her own way.
I know she's had a bad past and hasn't had a good family to take her in like you have. And I feel sorry for her, but she's still selfish and manipulative. All she has learned about being a human is to rope you in with her sad story and steal you away from Amanda.
I had this picture of you painted in my head early on the show that- more or less- you carried through perfectly for about three years. And now? Now it's like I don't know you anymore, Kyle.
I'm just really disappointed in the direction this show has been going toward for the past season. I know it has to have drama and mystery, but now it feels forced and doesn't have that good balance that it once had between the funny and serious moments.
I'm not holding out any hope that you'll come to your senses and that you and Jessi will be platonic friends again (and that my show will be as golden as it once was), especially as there's only one more episode until the end, but I hope that the series finale will be so shocking that the fact that you're now romantically involved with the she-devil will not cross my mind.
