Manchester United vs Derby, Liverpool vs Reading

Seriously girls, never try to watch two games at the same time. You just end up confusing yourself thoroughly, and can't enjoy either one. But I somehow managed it, and I think I caught the important parts of both. I hope the TV schedule is kinder to me for the rest of the season.

My thoughts on the games and pictures underneath the cut.

United vs Derby

Phew! That was a relief! Honestly, I was getting quite worried towards the end! But then, Cris does it again - like he has all season, and saves our asses! The goal was well taken, like Fergie said, it was probably the most difficult of all the chances he had, and yet it was the one with which he finally scored. Nice bit of link-up between him and Wazza. And I loved his celebration too! The counting to five-was it the number of chances he'd missed? Or the number of fouls against him? Anyways, it was rather sexy to see him so fired up and passionate! And to think people were saying that he'd lost his passion for playing! God, he really wanted it yesterday!

I think I've fallen for yet another United player! Ben Foster, what a keeper! Honestly, he kept us in the game. It would have been rather embarassing had those two attempts by Derby gone in. Great reflexes, considering that this was just his second game back from injury. Plus, he's got a wonderful goal kick. Twice he put Wazza in a goalscoring position one-on-one vs the keeper, pity it came to nothing.  And does anyone else think that he's really gorgeous too? So very English in his looks, I really  like it! England's number one, definitely!

Okay, being a little less fangirlish,  I thought it was a rather poor performance. We just weren't able to finish any move properly. The final pass was awful from almost every player. Cristiano had most of the chances, and if he'd been a bit more clinical, he could have had two hattricks! And the Derby keeper, Roy Caroll, who apparently played for us at one time, had the best game of his life against us, as is the norm with all keepers! I used to feel sorry for Derby, but now I really want them to get relegated. They are such a horribly, dirty team. It was like they had decided that since they couldn't play football against us, they'd resort to kicking everyone in sight. My poor Cristiano bore the brunt of their attentions, and I'm really proud that he didn't allow it to stop him from playing. Thank God for small mercies- at least the ref today wasn't as blind as Atkinson. And today, I understood why people detest Robbie Savage so much. Yeah, his surname is really appropriate. Probably the dirtiest player to grace the premiership. Apparently he played for us once too! *shocked*

Five things that I've concluded from this game :

1. Michael Carrick must play every game. No, I seriously mean it. He should be left out only if he has a broken leg or something. We look completely disjointed when he's not there. And Fergie ends up having to bring him on anyways, so what is the point of keeping him on the bench? Scholes-Anderson just doesn't work. Sadly, Scholesy seems to be going through a bit of uncertain form at the moment, and so is Anderson. One of them can play, but not both together. So please Fergie, let Mikey start!

2. Cristiano as a striker does not work. He's far more dangerous coming inside from the flank. Ideally, if fit, Louis Saha should play as a striker with Wayne behind him. But that is a big IF.

3. Our defence goes to pieces without Rio. Even Vida doesn't look as confident when Rio's not beside him. I understand that Rio needed a rest, and this was probably the best game to give him that, but it's a bit worrying how much dependent we are on him. So get that contract sorted out soon, Rio!

4. Nani ahead of Giggsy for all the big games. Sorry, but there is no place for sentiment in football. Giggsy is great, a true legend, and he deserves Sir Bobby Charlton's record, but he just doesn't have the legs anymore. Maybe he can be used as an impact sub?

5. Sir Alex is seriously spooked by what Cristiano said last weekend. It was written all over his face, when he talked about how Cris had courage beyond belief, and how he should keep faith in the game, that the people wouldn't allow someone as talented as him to leave. This worries me, if Fergie can't reassure Cris, then who can?

Oh well, the important thing is that we got the three points. At the end of the day, there's no difference between a 6-0 and a 1-0. By the way, we were not too far off, were we
shandoras ? Just a difference of a 0 betwen 1-0 and 10-0!

Liverpool vs Reading

This was a better game, I thought. Two cracking goals, and quite entertaining stuff. Reading's goal was absolutely unstoppable, but it's debateable if it was a free-kick in the first place. Liverpool need to work on their set-pieces. The tactic Reading used was similar to the one United had used at Anfield, and Liverpool got caught-out again. But then, Mascherano made up for it with another screamer! I'm delighted for him, it was his first goal.

The second was the Gerrard-Torres show again. Great free-kick and great header from Nando. Nice hug too, but I felt so sorry for Xabi! He was holding his arms out for Nando who totally ignored him and jumped on Stevie instead. He must be feeling really left out!

But speaking of Xabi, didn't he have like three shots on goal? All of which could have gone in. He was getting into great positions. I was gutted that he didn't score, would have been lovely to dedicate it to baby Jon. But it's so, so good to see him back to his best. I thought he was brilliant, not just attacking wise but defensively too. And another one who is incredibly brave-the number of times he challenged for the header, despite having all those head injuries. Speaking of which, I rather like the scar, I think it gives his face more character.

ooh, looks dangerous! Hope they are careful.

This was rather hot too! Stevie getting all angry and in-your-face with Bikey!

So, good result for Liverpool. They look to be the form team at the moment, and Fernando's on fire. He just can't stop scoring. They've got a settled look about them, and things look better behind the scenes too, with Rafa and the owners. All in all, the fourth place at any rate is secured. Maybe, they might end up higher than that too, with the way Arsenal are bottling it at the moment!

Oh yes, that was another sweet result. Arsenal drawing their fourth game in a row! In fact, they should have lost the game. It was a nice goal by Jeremie Aliadiere, (your wish came true ,
x_mesh_x ! And I totally see the attraction, he's really hot!) Pity Boro let that goal in, made it rather frantic in the end. I think Arsenal were playing in a 1-0-9 formation or something, literally their entire team was camped in Boro's half! I had my eyes closed and kept on repeating "Come on Boro" under my breadth! I'm so glad they held on!

So it means that we are already top of the table! And we can go three points clear on Wednesday! Please Fergie, no more messing around with the midfield.

Also, there is another interesting race hotting up-that for the golden boot. Cris is on 22 and Fernando on 20. Sorry Nando, but I want Cristiano to win this one! You can have it next season.
