So it's Roma again! Hmm, I don't quite know what to make of it. On the one hand, we avoided the English teams and Barca. On the other, Roma will be out for revenge. But I guess I'll take it. It's a good thing we have the second leg at home, I have full confidence in us being able to beat any team at home. The game in Rome will be difficult, especially if we go by last years game where we were lucky to get the away goal and had Scholesy sent off. Plus add in all the crowd trouble and the stupid police, and we've got a really tough game. It would be pretty naive to think that we'll repeat the 7-1, so I'm trying to be cautious. I guess 0-0 or 1-1 in Rome will be fine. Then we can take care of them at OT.
Then it would probably be Barca in the semis! Do you know, I feel more confident about us beating Barca than Roma. Barca haven't exactly been awe-inspiring so far. If Celtic can score 2 against them, I'd like to think that we can too. And our defence is much better. Oh well, that is thinking too far ahead. Let's take it one step at a time, and try to get past Roma at first.
Liverpool will face Arsenal three times in a week! I'm looking forward to it, actually. I think Liverpool will definitely edge past Arsenal. Arsenal are far better equipped to play against other continental teams(like the Milan game would suggest) than to play against the English sides. In all the games that Arsenal have played against us, Liverpool and Chelsea so far this season, they haven't looked that convincing. And it's the CL, Liverpool's forte, so I think they will be all right. And then it might be Liverpool vs Chelsea again in the semi-finals! What a surprise, huh? Again, the same logic as with Roma applies here, but Chelsea look to be in a real mess behind the scenes, so I wouldn't bet on them.
So if things go to plan, we could just possibly have a Manchester United - Liverpool showdown in Moscow! Most people I've discussed it with regard it as a worst-possible final. I personally would like it, as it means that both my teams have done well to get there. Oh well, that is still way ahead in the future, so lets just concentrate on beating Roma and Arsenal first.
Finally there will be some football tonight, yay! This week seems to have dragged on forever. But Liverpool and United play at the same time :( I hate it when that happens because it means I have to keep flipping channels and can't concentrate on either game. But I can't see it being too difficult for either of them, so hopefully it will be a good weekend. And United will go top, albeit for a few hours, if we get past Derby. Just hope we aren't too complacent!
