I just watched a replay of the Bolton game on MUTV, along with the post match interviews. Few of the observations I made:
+ We were crap in the first half.
+ Kevin Davies should not have lasted the first half. I don't know what his problem was with Patrice. And well done to Pat for not reacting.
+ Rio is worth his weight in gold. I'm yet to find any defender as calm and collected as him, and so good on the ball. That is, when he doesn't go off to sleep.
+ Gerard Pique needs to learn a few things from him, but not the sleeping part.
+ Anderson is a gem, absolutely priceless. He managed to change the complexion of the whole game.
+ It's incredible how Mikey managed to find his lost touch in the second half. Earlier he could barely pass the ball to a teammate, now all his passes found their mark, and could have resulted in goals. Does change of partner make that much of a difference?
+ Bolton played well. They fought hard, not always fairly, but managed to hold on. As much as it hurts me to say this, they deserved to win.
+ Sir Alex doesn't believe in holding in his emotions.
+ Giggsy could turn 50 and still look as gorgeous. Seeing him in a suit melted my heart completely. I even managed to forget how poorly he played. Or how he really isn't cut out to be a captain.
+ He gives the most bland interviews ever. And it's no use pretending that you didn't miss Wazza and Ronnie, Ryan, we all know it's not true. And the number of times he emphasized on the international break, you'd think that was the sole reason why we lost.
+ Owen Hargreaves has the most beautiful, most gorgeous green eyes in the whole world. And he doesn't look half bad in a suit either.
+ He is also the most painfully honest footballer I've ever seen. Yeah, you played terribly, Carlos should have scored, Pat should have passed the ball instead of going for goal, but is there a need to tell the whole world about it? But makes for an interesting interview, I guess.
So, a forgettable game, all in all. I don't know why I bothered to watch the replay. But seeing Giggsy's interview was worth it, honestly he is so pretty in a suit. I hear he used to be very popular with the girls when he was young, and it's easy to see why. Owen looked terrific too. What is it about men in suits?
Looking forward to the game tonight. Hope Cris is fine for it, and Vida too. But of course, it doesn't make any sense to risk them for a meaningless game. Just get well soon boys.
