So, I think I'm going to have to make an unexpected work trip out of state tomorrow to relieve a fellow public affairs specialist who needs to come home because her elderly mother is sick. That's all fine. I've been washing clothes all night in case I need them (because I took all my normal business-y clothes to the dry cleaners this evening, and they won't be ready until after 4 tomorrow, which will be too late).
But I just remembered. My driver's liscense expired in June. They're not going to let me rent a car, are they?
Anyone know how strict they are about that? Is there a grace period? Advice on where to buy a good forgery? (Kidding. I swear.)
I can take a cab, I guess. But I'm not flying into the town I'm staying in -- there's a drive. And once I get there, the cab can't get onto the center where I'll be working. So someone would have to come pick me up at the gate. Which means I need to pack not an embarassing amount, which is hard, since I don't know how long I'll be there. Maybe just overnight, maybe a week. Who knows?
