I have had really disturbing dreams lately. I'm tempted to write them down, because sharing the creep is fun, but I'd prefer to just forget them. Perhaps I haven't been appropriately anxious enough lately, and my subconscious is trying to compensate.
Let's see... What's going on lately? Well, work has been interesting for the last few weeks. I am trying to learn (and retain!) as much as I possibly can from my outgoing boss, without forgetting to do my current job as well. School programs have been slow this year, which turned out to be a blessing in disguise, since it gives me more time to focus on other things.
Meanwhile, Jack has taken to sleeping through the night, in his own crib. Like everything else he does, it happened suddenly. One night he had never gotten through a night without ending up in our bed, and the next night he was doing it consistently. Last night was the best yet. He slept through the night - including through a huge thunderstorm - crying out only twice and not requiring any attention, and then, when Steve and I got up at 6:20 this morning, Jack was awake and just hanging out in his crib, not fussing at all.
This is big.
Meanwhile, I am on the hunt for a different daycare situation. He seems happy enough where he is, but he came home on Wednesday (from a 10 hours day) having had only one diaper change. Yesterday, only two. Needless to say, he has a raging diaper rash. I have no idea what goes on with him all day, because I get no information from anyone there. I want him somewhere else by the time he is 18 months old, if not sooner.
This weekend is Memorial Day, a.k.a. Planting Time. I hope to get mammoth amounts of work done in the garden(s) on Sunday and Monday. (Saturday is occupied.) My plants that were started from seed are much healthier this year than ever before, I assume because of the pseudo-greenhouse I set up.
Hope everyone has a nice weekend!
