Oy. And good morning. I get the feeling that today is going to be one of those days during which I get very little done. My evidence is that it is already 10:00, I am leaving work at 3:00, and the server is down for updates. BUT!!! The lovely computer man provided me with MORE MEMORY today!!! Well, actually it was for my computer. I could use more memory myself, but I am delighted that it now takes 15 seconds for my computer to start instead of - and I am not exaggerating for once - SEVEN MINUTES.
I have an "urgent care" doctor's appointment at 3:30 this afternoon, and I seriously cannot wait. I hate going to the doctor. I have to be seriously ill or uncomfortable in order to convince myself that my usual "ignore it and it will go away" solution is not going to work. So looking forward to a doctor's appointment is unusual for me, to say the least. I tend to prefer non-chemical, pro-natural remedies for things, but now and then one just needs some damn antibiotics before one goes stark raving mad. Or, you know, gets really stupidly sick and dies of something idiotic like strep throat. What I'm hoping, though, is that my new doctor will be less pill-happy than my last one. My first experience with that doctor was when I had a sore throat that wouldn't quit. She said, "I don't think it's strep, but here is a prescription for antibiotics anyway." ?!?!?! It was mono.
Steve is on his way to New Hampshire now. I am hoping to use the time on my own wisely and productively, but knowing me I will probably sit around on the Internet all night every night instead.
