FOTJ and the dangling thread from thirty books ago

Would not be surprised if the potential FOTJ spoilers referenced on TFN are accurate, given the heavy anvil-dropping starting with the unidentified "she" at the beginning of Outcast through to the mysteriously familiar dark presence that wanted Luke in Abyss. ("A voice cold and familiar and half-remembered inside Luke's mind, a dream-lover's whisper"? Yeah, that's some pretty strong hinting. Too strong, perhaps?)

I wouldn't mind seeing Callista reappear, if I could be confident she and the emotional intricacies could be handled decently. Which I can't be, really. And I hope I'm wrong about the thing in Abyss; I hate and loathe (see, I'm driven to redundancy!) the idea of her returning, if she does so, as deformed and lustridden with a Luke fixation. Leave that to fanfic, LOTF authors. (Which reminds me of the Callista fic I always meant to write one day, where she angsts about wrong choices and being twenty years behind the rest of the galaxy and why she is wary about Luke's Jedi. It will be EPIC, I tell you, for the whole two people who would be interested in reading it.)

Still, with things so quiet lately, it might be amusing to see the old Callista vs. Mara debate flare up again. Because, you know, it's not possible for someone to care for two different people at two different times of his life without one or the other being dismissed as worthless or undeserving. Oh, fandom, you and your ways.
