So I'm sitting here working on a camera review (or not working on it, as the case may be) at 11:30 on a Sunday night after avoiding it all weekend, and simultaneously studiously avoiding thinking about how my teeth (or one tooth in particular) might be rotting out of my head and dreading the tomorrow-A.M. callback I'll probably get from the dentist's office that I semi-drunkenly called about it last night.

Drew and Sara are in Florida dropping off some junk and some cats and a car, and they'll be back up here on Tuesday(?) to get the rest of their stuff and shove it into several other vehicles. This means lots of moving things, lots of cleaning, and generally lots of stress over the upcoming week. At the end of that week, or that weekend, I move into my hopefully uncomplicated sublet apartment down in Little 5 Points, which will cut a whopping 45 miles off of my daily commute (from 50 to 5) and hopefully completely flatline my gasoline expenditures for the month of July. That windfall will be absorbed, of course, by preventative car maintenance, the gas I'll spend getting to Santa Fe, and, in all likelihood, some dental surgery (fuckfuckfuck). Easy come, easy go.

Still, it's nice knowing I don't have to pay any rent for the immediately foreseeable future.

I'm really honestly excited about Santa Fe, and I don't even really know why. I mean, there are plenty of reasons why. I love the place (the sights, smells, tastes, literally all of the sensory aspects), the people (particularly my mom, aunt, cousin; the dippy hippies and rich assholes, not so much), and the clean slate it represents. But really I have no idea as to what I'm going to do there beyond the nebulous plan of temping for a while and eventually miraculously stumbling into a comfortable, well-paying job that will suit my career criteria (flexible hours, creative work, few deadlines, company Wii). Should be an adventure, anyhow.

How you doin'?
