Up with vag-cancer

Texas has or is trying to get a requirement for all 6th grade girls to be vaccinated for HPV, which causes cervical cancer and genital warts. It's worth noting that if you have HPV, the vaccine won't cure you. Therefore, it's a preventative measure. Not bad for a state that has otherwise lost touch with reality.

Now, detractors to the vaccine are saying that it encourages promiscuity and could make young girls think they're immune to every virus.

*record scratch* Wait... what?

For the latter, isn't that just a simple educational effort? I mean, when I got vaccinated for Measles/Mumps/Rhubarb, I didn't assume I was immune to diphtheria. In fact, nobody even told me this because I already aquired the logical understanding that a cure for one thing isn't a cure for another.

And for the former...that's just really disgusting. This means that these people actually want women to get HPV. They want women to get HPV. Can you see this lunacy? This is not a logical argument in the least. They're upset that women have the opportunity to stay healthy. They're complaining about a disease prevention method. How insane would I have to be to insist that the small pox vaccine is bad for society because it encourages people to hang around cows whenever they want. Cows could trample you! I just can't get over the fact that these people are mad that women aren't going to die of cancer.
