things would just be a bit nicer over some coffee

Just got in from the Clientele concert at the Knitting Factory. I went with Jon whom I have not seen since Bright Eyes way back in November. Before the show we went to China town and had some dinner, get this...I managed to eat a bowl of soup with chop sticks! Yes ladies and gentlemen, I succeeded in that very difficult task. Jon kept telling me that it wasn't an awful thing for me to ask for a fork, but I just wanted to try with the chopsticks. We got to the show in the middle of the first opening band, they were called The Gwens, they were pretty good, reminded me quite a bit of Elliott Smith. They were the first American live band I have seen since Stephen Malkmus & The Jicks back in the end of March!! The second act was a girl named Annie Hayden, she wasn't half as bad as I expected her to be with my female vocal disliking. Finally The Clientele came on, they were quite good. They looked a lot different from what I remembered. Their set was good although they did not play "An Hour Before Sunrise" which was the only song I really wanted to hear. Towards the end of the show I noticed a boy standing near me that looked like a taller version of Conor Oberst, I really wish I was the approach the guy type... I told Jon about the guy and he ended up taking the same train on the subway with him while I was stuck on another train all together to get to Penn Station. I got to Penn Station in exactly 15 minutes which included a run across the street and through part of the station. I made it on time only to find myself sitting across from a bunch of girls that went to the Dave Matthews concert tonight. Ew, why must I always have to put up with people who just got back from a crap concert on trains? I've had to put up with stupid Papa Roach fans, dumb Insane Clown Posse fans, drunk AC/DC fans amoung some others... How dandy, Jon just told me that he almost talked to the Conor lookalike to give him my screen name. I wish I was more socibale.
