So many songs, so few tangos...

In trying to teach my typist the basics of hiding valuable papers, I appear to have accidentally stumbled across her Christmas gift for me. It is a mix-cd, and I'm not sure what to make of it.

The Partisan - Nick Cave and Noir Desir
All These Things That I've Done - The Killers (she's scribbled a note here, something about checking to see if I'm owed royalties?)
Pure Pleasure Seeker - Moloko
Minority - Green Day
Les Jour Tristes - The Divine Comedy
Welcome to the Black Parade - My Chemical Romance
Sewn - The Feeling
and
Nature's Law - Embrace (there's also a note about myself and Mssr. Max Jacob regarding these two but I'm studiously avoiding examining it too closely)
Get Your Way - Jamie Cullum (more notes, something about Antionette Sachs)
Damn, It Feels Good to Be A Gangster - Ghetto Boys
Jean Moulin - Mickey 3D
And a number of songs from some show called "Rent"

I must admit I was exicted to see the Mickey 3D song was named for me and skipped directly to it on her phonograph machine, but after hearing the first line I jammed the stop button and, just to be safe, unplugged the player.

Which brings me to my question: I was curious to know if you have stumbled across this modern phenomenon of mixes and, if so, what songs did you chose/were chosen for you?

Sigh. Like an Ipod would've killed her?
